Vinyl Installation

Preparing for Vinyl Installation

Proper preparation is key to a successful vinyl flooring installation. The subfloor must be smooth, dry, and free of debris to ensure a flawless finish. Any existing flooring should be removed, and any cracks or imperfections in the subfloor should be patched and leveled. Allowing the vinyl planks or sheets to acclimate to the room’s temperature for at least 24-48 hours before installation helps prevent expansion or contraction issues. Planning the layout in advance ensures a balanced and aesthetically pleasing result.

vinyl Installation Process

Vinyl flooring can be installed using different methods, including peel-and-stick, glue-down, or click-lock floating systems. For peel-and-stick and glue-down options, the adhesive backing is carefully positioned, ensuring no bubbles or gaps. Floating vinyl planks click together seamlessly over an underlayment, requiring no adhesives. It’s important to leave a small expansion gap around the edges to allow for natural movement. Once installed, avoid heavy furniture placement for at least 24 hours to let the flooring settle properly. Regular cleaning and avoiding excessive moisture will help maintain the beauty and durability of vinyl flooring for years to come.
